Fasting on the 15th

Posted by Kim Denton on

FASTING ON THE 15 - Our congregation is invited to come together for a time of prayer and fasting on the 15th of each month from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm.  Our next "Fast on the 15" will be Monday, February 15.  Our focus will be to know and experience God's love.

  • The fast will last from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • If you can't fast from food, give up something else for those hours.
  • When you feel a hunger pang or think of food, pray.
  • Be sure to drink plenty of water and or fruit juices.  Caffeinated beverages are permitted unless you feel led to fast from them.

Our prayer focus in January comes from 1 John 4:7-12;  praying to know and experience God's love.

********************************************************************************************************************************************Monday, February 15,  is the next "Fast on 15" of the year.  The fast will be from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.  If you are unable to fast from food, consider what other things you could give up for those 12 hours.  You can offer prayer throughout the day or stop at certain times during the day for a 5 to 10 minute prayer break. For thousands of years many believers have stopped at 6 a.m., 9 a.m., noon, 3 p.m. and at 6 p.m. for a time of prayer.  You may want to follow that schedule.

I know that God is glorified when His people seek Him.  Because Jesus is our mediator we can pray with confidence, knowing that our prayers are heard.
May God be glorified,
Pastor Mark
