Bulletin Announcements for the Week of October 8, 2017

Posted by Elizabeth Shaver on

The church office will be closed on Monday, October 9 in observance of Columbus Day.

Thank you to those who have contributed to Emma Harrod’s homecoming. The church and many in the community have expressed Christ’s love to the Harrods with open hearts and hands. For that we are grateful. We continue to collect funds for the many needs required to bring our Emma home. Trinity’s goal is $65,000. If you would like to contribute, make your check payable to Trinity Baptist Church and note “Harrods” or “Bring Emma Home” on the memo line. Please continue to keep Emma, Mark, Jodie, Ellen, & Samuel in prayer.

We continue providing  meals for the  Harrods at Wellmont Hospice House. The schedule is available on Meal Train through November. Go to: https://www.mealtrain.com/trains/3l37v8

The Women of Joy and Women on Mission will be making apple butter on Saturday, October 14 from 8:00-5:00. The proceeds will be used for mission projects. We are asking for donations of gallon cans of unsweetened applesauce, sugar, and jars. If you prefer to donate money instead of the requested items, mark the memo portion of your check “Apple Butter.” We also need many volunteers to help.  Proceeds will go to the “Bring Emma Home” fund.

The Seniors are going to Knoxville for a riverboat cruise on Wednesday, October 25. The cost is $35. See the Seniors bulletin board downstairs to sign up.

The next Meals Ministry is on Saturday, October 28. Sign up on the “What’s Happening?” bulletin board in the downstairs lobby if you are able to bring boiled potatoes, coleslaw, or cookies (14 servings). Please bring your items to the Worship Center by 9:00 a.m.  Drivers need to arrive by 9:30.

Trinity will be hosting Family Promise the week of October 29. Volunteers are needed. Contact Elton O’Hara at 946-5607.

The Fall Festival will be on Tuesday, October 31 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. There will be trunk or treat, costume contests, glow-in-the-dark hayrides, and more. All the donations for food and drink will go to the Harrods. Wear your favorite costume......nothing too spooky, please…..and be ready to share the name of Jesus with the community. Be sure to get a car pass in the downstairs lobby if you plan to distribute candy.

Registration for Upward basketball and cheerleading has begun for K5 through 6th grade. Register online at upward.org or get an application here at Trinity. All registered children must attend one of the following mandatory evaluations: November 6, 7, or 9 between 6:30-8:00 p.m. Practices begin the week of December 4.
