Bulletin Announcements for the Week of October 14, 2018

Posted by on

Hurricane Florence Relief Trip: Trinity has an opportunity to partner with several other churches in serving the Hampstead, NC, community which was dramatically impacted by Hurricane Florence. If there is enough interest, volunteers would travel October 25-27. Lodging and meals are provided by a host church. If you are interested in learning more, sign up in the lobby TODAY.

It’s time to register for Upward Basketball and Cheerleading for children in K5-8th grade. The cost through November 8 is $55 per child. After that date, the cost is $70. Mandatory evaluations and orientations begin on November 5, and practices begin the week of December 3. Registration forms are in the church office or you can register online at

Sign up in the downstairs lobby or contact Michael Bates if you are willing to coach Upward Basketball or Cheerleading. The next training for coaches is on Thursday, November 15 at 6:30 p.m. in the Student Room.

Trinity will be hosting Family Promise from October 21-28. Volunteers are needed, especially to spend the night at the church.  Contact Elton O’Hara at 946-5607 if you are willing to serve Him in this way.

Our annual Fall Festival is happening soon! Volunteers are needed for this fun outreach: people to give out candy from the trunks of their (hopefully decorated) cars, candy donations, forest decorators, judges, and gatekeepers. It will be on Wednesday, October 31 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. If you wish, feel free to dress in a costume, though nothing too scary or gory, please.

Meals Ministry is on Saturday, October 27. Sign up on the “What’s Happening?” bulletin board if you are able to bring boiled potatoes, coleslaw, or cookies. (13 servings each)

Late Fall CBR Group: Are you interested in learning more about CBR or practicing in a small group? We are planning a short-term CBR group that would meet on Sunday nights from now until mid-November. This option is perfect for those who have already completed their Equip class. You must sign up to participate.

ADORATION 2018 will be held at the ETSU Mini Dome on Sunday, October 21. Adoration Life is an ETSU campus ministry seeking to bring 1000 different churches to the university to pray and worship. It is led by young adults and college students. A public prayer service is at 1:30, a block party with food trucks and an organization expo at 4:00, and the main event at 6:00. Go to for more information.

Trinity celebrates Staff Appreciation Month in October. We will be collecting an offering for our staff during this month. Please designate your check “Staff Love Offering” to let them know how much you have appreciated their work this year. This offering is collected during October rather than December to help our staff as well as the congregation since December is such a busy time.

If you have a change of address or phone number, please contact the church office with your updated information.

Please continue to keep Emma, Mark, Jodie, Samuel, Sue Ellen, & Gabe in prayer.
