Posted by Kim Denton on

Deacon of the Week:  Mike Hensley

Please continue to pray for Emma, Mark, Jodie, Samuel, Sue Ellen, Gabe and Kimble.

The ANNUAL JAMA Christmas   Celebration will be Wednesday, December 8th, at 6:30 p.m. in the    Worship Center. As we kick off the Christmas season, several area choirs will be performing in celebration of Christ’s birth. This program benefits the Jonesborough Area Ministerial   Association whose mission is to provide food for our neighbors in need. Please bring non-perishable foods for their food pantry. A love offering will also be collected for JAMA.

We will be receiving our Lottie Moon Christmas Offering throughout the month of   December.  Our church goal this year is $20,000. Please prayerfully consider how much God would have you give to our offering for foreign missions.

JOYFUL GIVING - Would you like to make Christmas a little more joyful this year for children who might not receive all they really need this Christmas.  If so, choose an angel from our Angel Tree.  These are students from Jonesborough Middle School, David Crockett High School and the Baptist Center.  Also there are some from Four Oaks Nursing Home for residents that do not have families.  Return the Baptist Center Angels by  December 1st.  For all other angels,   return by December 13th.Put your angels name on each wrapped gift and tie them all together or put in a large gift bag.

UPWARD BASKETBALL AND  CHEERLEADING - Practices begin Monday, December 2nd.  Games begin January 4, 2020.  Awards Celebration will be  February 28, 2020.

Ladies, mark your calendars for our first annual “Soup and Sweets”,  a Christmas fellowship and cookie exchange. This evening of fun will be Sunday, December 15th from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. Dinner will be provided at no cost, but please bring a dozen  cookies to share in the cookie exchange, if you are able. A sign up sheet is in the foyer; we hope to see you there!

DECEMBER 8, 5:00 PM - This year, our Christmas Banquet will be catered.  No covered dish this year. Our menu will be rolls, steak & gravy, mashed  potatoes, peas, dessert and drinks.  We will have PIZZA for the kids this year.  Tickets are now available at the  Information Desk for adults and  children.  Donations accepted.

DECEMBER 8, 2019 - 5:30 pm  - The Children’s Choir will present the musical “The Christmas Cross”.  The story focuses on how you can’t have       Christmas without the Cross and why telling others about Christ is so                   important.  The children ages 3 – 11 have been rehearsing since August and have worked hard to memorize all the music and speaking parts. Come hear the country boys, cheerleaders, choir members and teacher as they perform a humorous and lively musical about why we celebrate Christmas.  You will be blessed!
