Bulletin Announcements for the Week of August 19, 2018

Posted by Elizabeth Shaver on

EQUIP discipleship classes begin TONIGHT (August 19) and will continue on Sunday evenings at 6:00. Join one of the following classes: Counter CultureTell Someone, Community Bible Reading, Living the Cross-Centered Life, How to Teach the Bible, or the women’s Bible study (Rebuild: A Study in Nehemiah). The classes are of varying lengths. Children will have the option of Bible Drill or choir during that hour. Youth will be taking a discipleship class called “Will Our Generation Speak?”

Rebuild: A Study in Nehemiah will be offered for women twice each week. You can join the Sunday evening class beginning August 19 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel or the Tuesday class beginning August 28 at 1:00 p.m. in room W-207.

Community Bible Reading Journals are an incredible resource as you grow in fellowship with the Lord. Bible readings are listed for each date along with a guide for your own prayers. If you miss a day, don’t worry about making it up; just move on to the reading for the current day. The journal costs $5.00 and is available in the downstairs lobby. An optional EQUIP class will be offered this fall for those who are using this journal and would like to connect with others doing the same. Sign up in the lobby.

Enrollment for the Trinity Church Choir is open. The choir meets at 5:00 each Sunday in the Worship Center. Contact Tony Bowman for more information.

The next Meals Ministry will be this Saturday, August 25. Sign up on the “What’s Happening?” bulletin board if you are able to bring mac & cheese, corn, or Little Debbie Cakes. (13 servings each)

The Women's Fall Retreat will be September 21-23 at a large cabin in Gatlinburg. We will arrive Friday evening and will be back by lunch on the 23rd. The $75 fee includes lodging and food, with the exception of lunch on Saturday. Activities include three sessions of studying God's Word together, worship, yummy meals in the cabin, and free time for fellowship at the cabin or in Gatlinburg. There are only 32 spots available. Sign-ups begin today in the lobby. The retreat fee is due at the time of sign-up. For any questions, contact Amy Herington at 423-483-4399.

Trinity will be serving lunch for FISH at DCHS on Friday, September 14. Please consider donating to this worthwhile endeavor.

Trinity is having a fundraising effort to help Marcia Lovejoy purchase a new cochlear implant. Her current one has failed, and a replacement costs approximately $10,000. Make your check payable to Trinity by August 26. All donations will be sent to Good Samaritan’s fund for her.

Due to limited space in the bulletin, church-wide invitations will now be listed on Trinity’s Facebook page: Trinity Baptist Church-Jonesborough TN. There are currently several invitations that have been posted.

Please continue to keep Emma, Mark, Jodie, Samuel, Ellen, & Gabe in prayer.
